We cordially invite you to the 82^nd session of the Georgia State Gospel Singing Convention at First Baptist Church of Americus on Lee Street South, the second weekend of October 2008.  Our convention has been held at Americus First Baptist before and they graciously allow us to use their facilities again. We really do appreciate their hospitality.  Our Friday night, October 10^th, session will be from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with registration starting at 6:00 p.m.   Refreshments will be served afterwards on Friday night; Ga. Ladies are requested to bring finger foods.  The Saturday, October 11^th, session will start at 10:00 a.m. with registration at 9:00 a.m.  The noon meal and business meeting will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Singing will resume at 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday morning 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., a full Breakfast buffet will be served at the GSGSC Headquarters motel, Quality Inn (229-924-4431) room rates from $60.00 to $68.00 + tax.  Other Motels in Americus are Days Inn (229-924-3613) from $42.95 to $52.95 + tax, Jameson Inn (229-924-2726) $68.00 + tax, Holiday Inn (229-928-5400) $75.00 + tax, Hampton Inn (229-924-3890) $85.00 + tax, and several other small motels.  We also have the historic Windsor Hotel uptown (229-924-1555).  Several campsites are available in the area including Ga. Veterans Memorial Park at Lake Blackshear (800-864-7275), Hwy 280 W. between Cordele and Americus.
